If you havent heard from me thats why... its not cause I dont love yall any more. :)
Shrinking again... for real this time.
So almost 16 months have gone by since I had Jack, and I look like I'm at least 6 months pregnant. I've gained and lost about 15 pounds over and over since I had Jack. Now I ready to lose it for good.
Today I started the 30 day shread. I think it might take me more than
30 days to get through. I was only able to do about half of it before my lazyness overtook me and I gave it up. I will try agian tommrow.
Right now Jack is napping, when he wakes up we're going out to get some fruits and salad stuff. I'm going to try to recreate my eating plan from when I lost the weight before I got pregnant.
I'm hopeing to get healthy enough to get pregnant with number 2 before Hub goes back to a boat next fall. That lil monkey up there has made me want a house full of babies. He makes life so awesome. I'll give a Jack update soon.

ONE
Jack will be one on August 8th. So taking first birthday pictures is pretty much my life right now. I have one more idea, but I have to wait till I have help. Taking pictures of busy toddlers requires a baby wrangler. :)
Things that have kept me from blogging.
SO. I signed up for ICOMLEAWE this month in hopes it would make me post SOMETHING on here. it almost worked. Almost. I have thought to myself a thousand times this would make a good post. Like the time we took Jack to the zoo, or we went to Chicago for the weekend, or that girl who was behind me in traffic plucking her eyebrows. But for some reason I just haven't posted. I want to be better. I do. I'll try...

Trying Agian.
Some time ago, I don't quite remember when, Hub and I decided that we would try to have a second baby around the time Jack turns one. That time somehow arrived very quickly. My baby will be one next month. So we jumped into trying to have a baby. We're not really doing anything super intensive. We're just making an effort to do certain things on days when I'm supposed to ovulate if I were a normal person, and not someone whose ovaries are in a permanent state of revolt.
I didn't think it would be so scary, and hard to think about, and gah don't want to walk down that path, this time around. But it is. I don't want to get crazy wrapped up in it this time. I want to live in the moment. I want to not obsess. BUT, I've found myself doing things to make sure certain things might be slightly more effective.
I need to focus on what I can control that help, and let the rest of it all slide.
Things I can control
-- What goes into my body. (diet)
-- Exercise.
-- Weight loss
-- Stress Level.
When I got pregnant with Jack I had lost about 40 pounds. I was exercising. I was eating good food. I was not stressed. I was not obsessing over ovulation and procreation and all the what if's that come along with them. I was relaxed, and not expecting anything. I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't peeing on sticks every other day. That is my plan for now. Maybe just maybe lightening will strike twice again, and I'll be pleasantly surprised again.

Days 1-3 Quick Trim Cleanse.
Starting weight : 216.8
Weight morning day 4 : 212.2
So... Yeah score. I feel awesome! I'm wearing pants that havent been on my butt since before I was pregnant. :) And they are comphy. :) Today is a good day.
The cleanse isn't that bad. That said, I'm not really folowing the meal plan in the booklet. I'm just eating healthy and reducing my calories. (under 1500)
The hardest part is drinking all the water. Your supposed to drink a gallon everyday, which as it turns out is about what I'm supposed to drink anyway. I just cant seem to do it. I can get about 3/4 of it down. By about 9ish at night I feel like I am floating.
Positives:
I find my self only wanting the correct portion size of food. I feel full faster. I think its all that water.
I have lost weight, clothes fit me better.
Negitives:
Ummmm... You do have to AHEM use the bathroom more often. That said, its really not so bad. I survived Metformin, this is NOTHING like that.
I was expecting other negitive side effects like nausia and jitters, But so far I haven't had any of that. Also haven't had the energy surplus this pill says you may get. ( *pout* could really use that energy. )
So far so good. I'll check back in a few days.

The Wagon.... Falling Off Of.
I have been on the weight loss wagon, and off the weight loss wagon at least ten times in the past month. It’s a sucky self esteem battering situation.
I was in Ta*get tonight picking up a few things and two thin blonde twigs in workout clothes were walking behind me. I heard them start laughing and then one of the twigs said to the other one look at her butt. Yeah awesome. You rock bitch! As if I hadn't had a rough enough time adjusting to my post baby body without your unwarranted input. Suck my droopy jeans twiggy bitch. PS. Eat a steak... and choke on it.
I haven't been blogging about weight loss lately because I seem to be losing and gaining back the same couple of pounds, and two weeks ago we got a new scale, after being without a working one for a while. Our old scale was doing this thing where it would very 5 to 10 pounds every time you stepped on it. So we got a new shiny digital one. I didn't like what it said. So off I fell. I stopped exercising. I was actually starting to enjoy it, but the little voice in my head that kicks me when I'm down said "HA! It's not working." Actually, the scale I was using was broken, but I couldn't let myself believe that. I got into a negative downward spiral of suck.
Well no more. I'm sick of it. I'm sick of being the droopy pants-ed woman in the store, and I'm sick of having nothing that fits. Mostly I'm sick of feeling bad about my body. My amazing body, that just managed to do the one thing I've been trying so hard to get it to do for 5 years. I'm getting my body back. Tonight at Ta*get was the last straw.
I decided to kick things off with a cleanse. I've never done anything like this before. I'm not looking for a miracle with it. I'm just hoping that it cleans the junk out of my system and makes it so I don't want it so badly. If I manage to lose a few pounds in the process bonus, and that'll be just the motivation I need.
I decided on the Quicktrim cleanse, mainly because I can't stomach the thought of drinking some weird concoction or eating only apples, or some other crazy thing for 2 weeks. With the Quicktrim cleanse I get to eat food, and live my life. I have to drink more water, and take the pills (which I debated doing, but in the end I read the ingredients and it didn't have anything dangerous in it.) and exercise, for 14 days. I can do anything for 14 days. After the two weeks is up, my plan is to do the same thing I did to lose the weight the last time. I'm going to cut my calories and not eat processed white carbs, and drink lots of water. I will be tracking my food on my Lose It app to keep me on track. I also will be working out more. My goal to start is 4 days a week, doing the Kempo X video, and 30 minutes on my elliptical. I hope to get that up to 6 days a week, and maintain that. I hope that I can get more fit and maybe even start training to run a half marathon.
I'm starting the cleanse on Saturday, because that is when we get paid and I can buy new groceries, and get the old stuff out of my house. I'm going to start drinking the water in the morning, because it's free and I'm going to need to ease myself into it, as that is alot of water.
My goal weight is 180.
I hope to be at my goal weight by the end of August.
As an added bonus if I am on track for my goal, I should fit in my summer clothes. :)
The stats:
Starting weight:217
Daily calorie intake:1600
Water Intake: 169 oz
Pounds till goal: 37

Watch Me Shrink
Last week I lost 2 pounds! YAY! ... Mostly because of a lot of yard work I did on the one really nice day we had.
This week is going to be about adusting. Adjusting my diet and my exercize, and also adjusting my water in take. I've been drinking alot of anything that isn't water, and I want to get back into drinking water.
Goals this week:
Drink more water.
Exercize 3 times on my eliptical for 20 mins.
Eat less junk.
The Stats:
Starting weight: 216 ( 2 weeks ago.)
I weighed in this morning at 210.
My goal is 180.
Pounds lost: 6
Pounds to goal: 30

Losing it.
I hereby reinstate Watch Me Shrink Wednesdays! Who's in? (I'd do some sort of fancy linky thing here but I have no idea how.) So if you are losing it too just leave a comment and let me know.
So here's the deal... Jack is 7 months old, and I guess I had the delusion that the "baby" weight would have come off by now. By baby weight I mean the 15ish pounds that I gained while pregnant, and the 15ish pounds that I had to lose before I got pregnant. I got fed up only having a couple things that fit, and with spring coming NOTHING really fits. So. Yeah. There’s that.
So to get rid of my "protective layer" I am getting on my new friend the elliptical, and I'm doing that for a half an hour. Also I'm eating less.
Now that the weather is improving I see walks with Jack in the park and around the neighborhood happening in the near future too.
The Stats:
Starting weight: 216 ( 2 weeks ago.)
So I weighed in this morning at 212.
My goal is 180.
Pounds lost: 4
Pounds to goal: 32
To some people that may seem like a high goal weight. But I'm 6 feet tall, and if I weigh much less than that I look scary.
The List: Lovingly edited to suit what I wnat to write about.
Day 1. I have a ____ month old and already I'm thinking, I'm going to miss him at this age. Have you felt that way, and what age do you miss the most?
Day 2. What makes you uniquely you?
Day 3. A photo that makes you happy
Day 4. Style 31. Post a pic of you in your favorite outfit.
Day 5. Write a blog thanking someone who has made your heart come alive.

Day 7. Do you believe in the "cry until he sleeps" method?
Day 8. Have a beauty secret (e.g. hair tip, make up tip)? Share, please!
Day 9. What virtues do you value in yourself?
Day 10. What are some of your favorite MAC products, and what foundation/powder do you wear?
Day 11. Post a recipe. Or if you don't cook, try a new recipe and write about how it turned out (pictures please!).
Day 12. Write about what wears you out as a woman.
Day 13. A YouTube video
Day 14. Style 31. Post an outfit pic!
Day 15. What do you wish for?
Day 16. Watch me shrink Wednesday.
Day 17. Write about 3 things that make you happy.

Day 10: favorite make up.
This question asks about MAC cosmetics. I don't own any. I'm sure they are awesome but I can't justify paying that much money for make up. So here are some of my favorites.
Kat Von D, True Romance Eyeshadow Palette - Ludwig
I love how rich and shimmery the colors are in this pallet.
Nars Orgasm blush. Firstly, with a name like Orgasm it has to be good. Right? Second, its the perfect shimmery peachy pink. It works with my pale skin and when I have a tan. Its awesome.
Buxom mascara. It gives my lashes. That's no small feat.
Revlon Photo Ready foundation. I like it becasue it covers all of the yuck in my skin that has cropped up since having Jack. I didn't have acne durring purberty, but now I do. Awesome... NOT.
** all pictures are loveingly stolen from the internet. also I am not being paid to say I like or use these things. If some one wanted to pay me it would be cool though. :)

Day 9: Virtues.
I think my biggest virtue is patients. I can sit for hours and work on something and deal with unruly people all day. I know that as a parent, being patient has already helped me so much. I don't really lose my cool very easy. So Jack’s crying jags don’t get to me. I know when he is a toddler it will help too as I can already see his temper fits are going to be epic. He got his mommy’s stubbornness.

Day 8: Beauty Secret.
I don't have much time to spend in front of the mirror these days. But I've got a few tricks up my sleeve.
I have had terrible greasy hair since I got pregnant, it hasn't gone away. So I had to find something to do to make it more liveable. Once every two weeks I wash my hair with shampoo mixed with a tablespoon of baking soda, then I deep condition it. The baking soda clearifies and it leaves my hair light and not weighed down and lifeless.
If I do have time to get in there and do my make up, I don't have time to touch it up a thousand times durring the day, so I need it to stay put. I found this product durring one of my rare trips to Sephora, and I love it!
It's called glittler eye primer. If you put it on your lids before you put on your liner and shadow it stays put and you don't have to mess with it all day.

Day 7 : Cry it out.
I've been sick. I'm feeling a little better now so I'm playing catch up.
I never really had to try this method myself. We have been so blessed with an awesome sleeper. Sure there have been periods that he woke up at midnight and stayed up till 3 but I think that's a normal part of babyhood.
Jack slept in our room in a pack 'n' play for the first three month of his life. It was really more for me then for him. I wanted my baby near me. I wanted to be able to get up and grab him and feed him and put him back down without waking up too much. I wanted to be able to watch him sleep. I had this friend that had me so unnecessarily scared of SIDS that I could let him nap in a different room when he was first born. That ended as soon as I realized that I had no clean clothes and hadn't showered in days because I was afraid to do anything while he slept. When he was around two months it got to the point where Hub or the dogs or I would wake him up at night. His sleep patterns got worse instead of better. None of us were getting any sleep.
So Hub suggested that we put him in his crib, all the way in the next room. It took me about a week before I gave in and put my baby in his very nice crib in the next room. I sat in the living room watching him on the baby monitor till at least midnight. An amazing thing happened. He slept. He slept until 3 am that night. So I got 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep that night. It was heaven. Before long Jack slept for longer and longer periods of time.
We basically give him a bottle and a little snuggle time then he goes in his crib awake but sleepy, and he falls asleep on his own.
Because Jack learned to fall asleep by him self we get adult time and sleep.

Day 6: Most embarassing moment.
I don't have a most embarrassing moment, because too many embarrassing things happen to me in the course of a week to have one giant glaring one that sticks out above the rest.
Last week:
I was dragging the trash cans out to the end of the driveway, and on my way back up to the garage my pants fell down around my ankles... undies too... Did I mention I live on a main road... and that it is almost always busy. Sorry drivers.
I dropped a jar of pickles in the garage... it broke... my car that I park in said garage smell vaguely like pickles.
I fell on ice.
I talked to someone without realizing my fly was down.
Basically I’m a big klutz. This stuff happens so often to me that I don’t really even notice anymore.

This is a day late but here goes.
Dear random lady in Meijer,
Thank you so much for your kind words. You have no idea how much it meant to hear that. Thank you so much for telling me that I look thin for just having a baby. The amazing complement you gave me about my handsome little guy was also good. But those kind words made my week. I haven't been feeling so go about myself lately and you made me smile and realize it’s not that bad. You gave me the drive to change a few things, and get off my butt and do the work. Thank you. Karma will pay you back big time for that.
Love,
The girl with the cute little man in the freezer isle.

Day 3: A photo that makes me happy.
This is hard because I have so many. So here's more than one. :)
The first photo is my brother, Jeremy holding Jack. It's hard to get Jeremy to smile, and if you look real close you can see him smiling at Jack.
The second picture is my fist ever trip to Disney.
The third photo is of my Jeep on the beach in the Outer Banks NC. It was so fun to go becah driving.
The last photo is what happens when Daddy feeds Jack.

Day 2 : What makes you uniquely you?
I'm the girl with chipped nail polish.
I'd rater be on the beach then anywhere else on earth. Even though I burn like a lobster in just a few minutes.
I grew up in a beach town because of this, I love the quiet solitude of a remote beach in the off season.
I'm the one who is partly invisable in public, but when you look you can really see her.
I am a decent cook.
I hate writing about myself.
I am crafty, artistic, and creative.
I secretly want to be a country singer, but I really don't sing that well. I mean I'm okay in the car, or shower or while cleaning the house... but not in front of people, who might have payed to see someone sing.
I want to learn to play guitar, desperately.
I have a very small, very close family. I live very far away from most of them. They mean the world to me.
I'm shy and quiet, till I decide that your an okay person. Then you'll never shut me up.
I have scares physcally and emotionally. The emotional ones are always worse.
I suck at spelling.
I dont tust or scare easlily.
I love taking pictures.
I someday really want to own a house. Mostly because we move every three years and I really want some place that is mine.
When I was growing up I had 2 goats, 4 bunnies, 3 cats, 1 dog, and alot of ducks and chickens. Not all at the same time though.
I will eat the whole container of icecream... so hide it from me please!
I have a drawer full of candles. I think its an upsesion now.

Day 1 : What age do you miss the most?
Jack is going to be 7 months old on the 8th of this month. Its scary. He's growing so fast. He's almost crawling. He's almost saying mama (AAAAAAHHHHHHHma!)
If I could go back to any age I think it would be that first week we brought him home. It was the safety of it. He spent 5 days in the NICU after an emergency c-section. I remember thinking if we could just get him home it would all be okay, and it was.
That's my baby, and that's his Daddy's thumb. He was born at 36 weeks, and was so tiny. When he was born he wasn't breathing. It was scary. It all was so scary.
This is me holding him on his first day home from the hospital. He was so tiny he fit in the palm of my hand. He wore preemie clothes for about 2 weeks. I put them all away yesterday and I cried like a girl because he was so tiny. He's orange because he had awful jaundice on top of everything else. He was so perfectly snuggly, and I just sat for hours holding him and sniffing his little head. It was the first time I let myself relax enough to enjoy being his mom. I stopped being so worried and was able to be happy.
This is Jack now. He's so big and strong and independent and stubborn. He's perfect.

Chhh Chhh Chhh CHANGES!
So you might notice that some things look a little different around here. That is if anyone is still out there. (Hello if you are. :) ) I decided that some things in the blog needed to be different if I was going to keep writing here. So I changed the title. And the layout. Oh and the content. I was running out of things to post about so I decided that this had to be more than just a baby blog, because even I was getting bored. Don't worry; I will still post squeezable pics of Jack and updates. But I wanted to post about some things that I enjoy also, cooking and crafting, and anything else that catches my attention. I've been inspired by some of the great blogs I've stumbled upon when I should have been doing something else, like cleaning. I needed a sea change and I'm taking you along for the ride.
